Martyr Sub Inspector Deepak Sharma attained martyrdom during a fierce shootout with a group of wanted gangsters in the Kathua District of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place after his police team successfully cornered the main gangster, who was a key accused in a murder case, leading to an intense exchange of fire.

Displaying exceptional courage, SI Deepak Sharma sustained fatal head injuries during the gunfight, but his actions were instrumental in neutralizing the most wanted gangster at the scene. His supreme sacrifice in the line of duty leaves behind an enduring legacy of heroism.
